    Private Trading is multi-billion-dollar bespoke brokerage business of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. offering advisory and customized l trading solutions to sophisticated and qualified Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) global clients, Family Offices and other Enterprise Strategic Client (ESC) of RBC. Strategically aligned with ESC group while operating on the RBC Dominion Securities platform as a regulated entity, PTO delivers a core Capital Markets offering with blended Wealth Management capabilities specially designed to best meet the complex needs of strategic clients of RBC, while deepening client relationships across enterprise through a more integrated, client centered approach.

    The Senior Trader and Investment Strategist is at the core of a professional, highly specialized, multi-assets trading desk and service offering for sophisticated Enterprise Strategic, Family Offices and qualified UHNW global clients. The role includes managing the PTO clients trading needs across all asset classes (including equities, FX, derivatives, fixed income, structured notes and precious metals) in a 'one stop shop', including global execution capabilities in over 40 countries, customized trading solutions and bespoke related Capital Markets & Wealth Management services. The Senior Trader and Investment Strategist provides expertise and guidance to global Family Offices, UHNW and ESC clients with regard to trading and hedging strategies or to addresses service inquiries and issue resolution. Works in collaboration with strategic partners across RBC to design and implement customized solutions, and to explore opportunities to expand relationships with RBC strategic clients or deepen client relationships. The Senior Trader and Investment Strategist manages the PTO book (revenues currently mostly booked in RBC DS but also IWM and WM Asia) and inventory, day-to-day clients flow, manages risk and the ongoing activity in client accounts, as well as other operational aspects resulting from trading billions of dollars for a set of large, sophisticated ESC clients of strategic importance to RBC. What will you do?
  • Manage the trading needs for PTO sophisticated global clients across all asset classes including trading strategies, global execution, risk management, and other day-to-day client needs. PTO global execution capabilities includes: equities, options, fixed income, FX, forwards, funds, futures, precious metals, structured products, as well as cash management solutions
  • Advise RBC's largest and most complex clients on multi-asset class bespoke trading strategies and solutions leveraging existing capabilities or expanding PTO offering
  • Engages with the ESC Group's senior coverage team and their clients regarding bespoke trading strategy and execution capability for enterprise strategic clients
  • Design and implement bespoke 'One RBC' solutions that best meet the complex needs of Enterprise Strategic clients, Family Offices and qualified UHNW clients
  • Collaborate with other trading teams, broker dealers and 3rd parties as it relates to clients trading needs or to explore new opportunities and innovative solutions
  • Manage the PTO book and trading inventory, day-to-day client flow and related operational aspects on the desk, manage associated trading risk
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships across RBC and collaborate to help business growth, explore viable solutions to address complex client needs or to solve issues promptly and effectively
  • Collaborate within the PTO team, partners and functional support areas, and engage with clients on client discoveries, KYC/AML and other onboarding related
    • What do you need to succeed? Must have:
  • 5+ years of relevant financial markets experience while demonstrating thorough market understanding
  • Capital Markets sales and trading experience in equity, fixed income, currency and exchange traded derivatives
  • In-depth experience in relationship management of families of significant wealth who have complex needs
  • Relevant multi-disciplinary experience within Wealth Management / Capital Markets / Private Banking / Financial Services industry experience
  • Strong RBC cross-enterprise knowledge with ability to engage and cultivate partnerships to deliver results
  • Team player, positive 'can do' attitude, strong collaboration skills. Demonstrated initiative and resilience
  • Experienced with trading platforms including Fidessa, Bloomberg, Factset, CQG, WEXX and competent with Microsoft Office
