Warehouse Lead - Caledon, Canada - Proactive Supply Chain Group
Description
PURPOSE:
Responsible to assist Warehouse Manager in all aspects of warehouse activity. To be the primary backup in the event of Manager absence.
Duties include but not limited to:
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ability to lead, motivate and direct team efforts while informing department supervisor of problems or potential problems that require immediate attention.
- Assist in leading a team of hourly associates with varying levels of experience and education.
- Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Shipping, receiving, material handling and inventory control tasks in support of the team's daily activities using powered material handling equipment.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Accuracy with all outbound shipments and labeling of new / current products
- Coordinating pickup with operations staff while proficiently handling customer pickups
- Maintain a clean facility and monitor employee cleanliness
- Ensure work assigned to employees is being completed correctly and on time
- Complete order requests, customer programs, counts, display builds accurately and on time every time
- Follow workplace safety procedures, GMP and PIP policies and procedures
- Ensure you understand all aspects of the warehouse business and perform all requested warehouse tasks
- Read and understand all warehouse operational SOPs and understand all customer accounts and their requirements
- Show professionalism everyday towards all departments, staff, carriers, customers, and drivers. Attitude is expected to be positive, motivated, and focused at all times
- Ensure the Health and Safety compliance of all team members daily across all shifts
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience:
3+ years of warehouse experience, 3+ years of forklift experience
Relevant supervisory experience managing, coordinating, and leading teams is preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
LANGUAGE:
English
COMPUTER:
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office, Outlook
