Position Summary
The Design Detailer's main responsibility is to detail production design drawings in accordance with customer requirements in a safe, productive, and profitable manner.
What you'll do:
- Read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, and other drawings
- Assist with the development of company drawing standards and refinement of existing standards.
- Document and maintain drawing procedures and work instructions.
- Create drawings following customer requirements and engineering design using Autodesk Revit, ensuring all works stay within the established scope
- Work with design engineer(s) to ensure drawings meet all design requirements
- Coordinate with the project manager(s) and/or project coordinator(s), and inform PM/PC of any variation from the scope of work.
- Prepare orders for production, including the creation of machine files and required paperwork
- Continuously improve drafting procedures to exceed quality and productivity requirements
- All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required by the supervisor
What you'll need:
- Diploma in Engineering/Architectural Technology or equivalent experience
- 35 years of detailing experience in a fabrication setting
- Proficient with Autodesk Revit and Excel
- Working knowledge of framing is an asset
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
- Selfdriven with a strong attention to detail
- Strong teamwork mentality
Working Conditions:
- Hours of Work: Day Shift
- Monday to Thursday 7 am 4:30 pm, Friday 7 am 2:30 pm
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs may be required.
- Overtime as required.
