About the Position

We are looking for an IT (Information Technology) Infrastructure Services Analyst - Networks to join the IT department.

This position includes remote work with an in-office presence in Toronto, as required, and travel to other offices, when necessary.


The role requires accountability for maintaining the firm's network infrastructure, knowledge of the latest market trends as well as an understanding of firm policies and procedures to complete complex, specialized assignments in creative and effective ways.


Additionally, the individual will have an appreciation for the general and technical aspects of the role as well as the judgment, initiative and technical knowledge to provide exceptional customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor the network on a daily basis, including traffic and performance
  • Ensure integrity of data storage and backup and recovery systems
  • Work with the Security team to protect the network from hackers, malware and other threats
  • When possible, anticipate and resolve problems before they impact users
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Conduct tasks to back up and restore network, when required
  • Upgrade and maintain system, correcting errors after implementation
  • Assist with asset inventory management
  • Provide technical support during implementations and upgrades to production systems
  • Communicate ticket resolution to appropriate contact and maintain ticket documentation
  • Develop general understanding of IT processes and policies, as defined by IT Service Management, to effectively answer incoming customer inquiries
  • Continuously augment key functional and technical skills, improve business acumen and stay informed of industry best practices
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure compliance with crossteam accountabilities, deliver seamless service, share best practices and resolve customer inquiries, communicating resolutions and escalating issues, as necessary
  • Improve operations, identifying possible process and system enhancements as well as new technologies
  • Follow practices for monitoring network/system security, performance metrics and service levels to meet the firm's needs
  • Create and maintain systems documentation and disaster recovery procedures
  • Engage with vendors to provide Level 4 specialist knowledge, where required
  • Look for opportunities to leverage technology to achieve business unit objectives
  • Maintain regular communication with IT staff to discuss issues, policies and practices
  • Build and maintain positive and strong rapport with colleagues, leaders, and customers
  • Adhere to departmental standards and ensure appropriate use of information systems
  • Perform reporting and administrative functions, as required
  • Provide oncall, roundtheclock support in the event of a system outage
  • Other duties as assigned


This role may require the need to work outside regular business hours, including extended shifts, occasional evening and/or weekend hours as well as assisting on-call Service Desk colleagues with time-sensitive issues.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline with an IT focus
  • Certification(s) in current Cisco infrastructure technologies
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in operation of IT infrastructure and services (cloud and onprem)
  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure planning and operations for multiplatform environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, virtualization, security, and standards including Cisco
  • Experience as part of a highperforming team with measurable objectives
  • Proficiency with, or knowledge of, programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performancemonitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
  • Background in network administration/management
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Experience in a midtolarge sized organization, preferably with a law firm
  • Technical knowledge of:
  • Cisco FTD and ISE NAC solution management
  • DHCP/DNS configuration and administration
  • LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/VLAN data communications
