The Opportunity
They are looking for an
Associate Lawyer
to take over files from a retiring litigator and take a leadership role in their dispute resolution practice. This role offers hands-on litigation and mediation experience, mentorship from senior lawyers, and opportunities for career growth within the firm.
What You'll Do
- Manage a variety of litigation matters, including society member disputes, estate claims, real estate and contract matters, and builder's liens.
- Conduct mediation, trials, and other dispute resolution processes.
- Work closely with senior lawyers, associates, and support staff.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in the firm's community-focused initiatives.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has 5+ years of litigation experience.
- Is a member of the Law Society of BC.
- Has experience in charity, non-profit, or employment law (or interest in these areas).
- Is proactive, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
- Has strong litigation and mediation skills.
Bonus If You Have
- A law degree from a Canadian university.
- Previous experience working with charities or non-profits.
