Job Summary
Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum two years of hospital experience working with a major Health Information system e.g., Meditech, Epic, Cerner required.
  • Working knowledge of Wait Time Information System(WTIS), Novari ATC, GI Endo DSP and/or Surgical Efficiency Target Program(SETP) preferred
  • Previous experience is Application support, technical support and database management preferred
  • Proficient in Windows/

Microsoft Products:
Access, Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio.

  • Minimum one year experience using Novari ATC Platform preferred

Qualifications:


  • Community College or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Medical Terminology Certificate
  • Medical Office Administration diploma preferred
  • Background in Health information preferred

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports the Pre op clinic scheduling process for the physician offices and the Pre op Clinic team.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots interface errors(HL7 messages) amongst hospital systems related to Meditech, Novari and WTIS
  • Monitors and resolves the surgical activities in Novari, Meditech and WTIS that relate to case completions and case cancellations
  • Performs chart review of surgical cases to ensure the facility is meeting the quality of data requirements when reporting to WTIS, GI Endo and SETP
  • Validates and uploads Data to GI Endo DSP and SETP according to Ministry timelines
  • Validates and uploads Data to WTIS Compliance Feedback Report to Access to Care/Ontario Health
  • Develops and maintains the appropriate documentation for internal and external processes related to Novari ATC and Meditech systems.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal skills to work with physicians, physician's office staff, coworkers and staff in a positive cooperative manner.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of projects in the surgical program related to role.
  • Work collaboratively with the Pre operative and OR interprofessional team and attends monthly meetings.
  • Participates in meetings, webinar education sessions related to WTIS, SETP, Ontario Health, Novari Platform and GI Endo DSP.
  • Responsible for data extraction, manipulation, analysis and presentation of surgical volumes and wait times(as needed)
  • Participates in the establishment and completion of the strategic direction and annual goals and objectives for the Surgical Program
  • Provides Back up support to the SETP, GI Endo DSP administrator, Novari Administrator & WTIS Coordinator
  • Identifies issues, problems and opportunities to the WTIS Coordinator/Novari Administrator
  • Facilitates and promotes continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Performs crossfunctional duties, as assigned or requested
  • Performs other duties consistent with job classification, as required
