Reporting to the Coordinator, Administrative Services, this role provides day-to-day administrative support to the Manager of Volunteer Services and the team as required within the portfolio.

The AA I manages daily administrative tasks, serving as the first contact for volunteers and the public, while maintaining a positive approach.

Responsibilities encompass and are not limited to, overseeing the patient entertainment program, aiding volunteer recruitment and scheduling, office upkeep, and liaising with internal and external parties.

Additionally, this role will support with inquiries, update databases, assist with clerical duties like inventory and membership renewals, and more.

A significant aspect of this role involves coordinating and preparing agendas for the team and Volunteer Advisory Council meetings, and showing ongoing appreciation for volunteers, with special attention during National Volunteer Week.


What We Offer:


  • Status: Temporary Full-Time (12 Month Contract)
  • Rate of Pay: $24.09 per hour to $30.12 per hour

Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of twoyear Diploma in Medical, Executive or Office Administration, or as acceptable by the Hospital
  • Minimum two years of office administration experience required
  • Experience with invoicing and billing, creating P.O's and requisitions
  • Demonstrated expertise in computer software products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and an ability to learn and embrace new technologies
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to identify problems, provide suggestions and/or implement appropriate solutions as required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and outside agencies
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines and resources and corporate policy and procedures
  • High level of initiative and selfdirection required
  • Flexibility/adaptability to changing priorities, procedures and methods
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
