This position will report to the Vice President, Regulatory.

Responsibilities:

Market fundamentals that influence transmission in Alberta such as, operational characteristics of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System, generation, load, and electricity prices, among others.
Government policies, market design, regulations, ISO rules, and other signposts influencing market and industry.
System and financial information related to utilities in Alberta and utilities in other jurisdictions.
New transmission, generation, and industrial developments in Alberta and other jurisdictions.
Emerging technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, electric vehicles, and energy storage.
Assist in preparing executive summaries, presentations, reports, and other analysis related to the above.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with preference for a Business or Economics major.
Basic knowledge and understanding of the electricity industry structure and power market in Alberta.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with the use of other data analysis tools would be a plus.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
