The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for teaching INDG : Treaty in Contemporary Society, an in-person class to be held on Monday and Wednesday, Fall Term: September-December, 2024) at the Studley Campus of Dalhousie University.

The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking student assignments, development of course content on Brightspace, and submitting grades. In addition to course time, the instructor is required to hold two office hours per week for consultation with students. The instructor reports to the Indigenous Studies program Coordinator. Qualifications/Requirements of Position Applicants should have:

• familiarity with Peace and Neutrality treaties; Peace & Friendship treaties; Williams, Robinson, and Douglas treaties, numbered treaties,. and contemporary land claims agreements;
• a completed degree in history, sociology, anthropology, or other relevant discipline.

We would also value:

• training in Indigenous Studies;
• lived experience as a Mi'kmaw (or other Indigenous) person.

Salary Range/Pay Rate $6, inclusive of 6% vacation pay and benefits) for the Fall 2024 semester, in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement.
