TILLICUM LELUM ABORIGINAL FRIENDSHIP CENTRE (TLAFC)

The mandate is to address the needs of the Urban Aboriginal

Community. This is a holistic program based on cultural and traditional values.

TLAFC is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Administrative Finance

Assistant. The successful applicant will be familiar with financial management within a Non-Profit Business environment & Aboriginal organizations.


Responsibilities:


  • Plans, organizes and controls the finances of the Friendship Centre
  • Prepares financial reports and other documentation as required
  • Prepares department budgets in conjunction with department supervisors
  • Provides financial advice and guidance to Management Team
  • Process Accounts Payable and Receivables
  • Process Payroll
  • Support with implementing funds and coordinating payments for approved products, services and supports.
  • Maintain a record of issued Notification of Decision (NOD) and invoices/receipts/purchase orders for the approved items purchased.
  • Work with all staff members, including program coordinators, finance, and office managers.
  • Provide additional support to ensure the successful operation of programs and services.
  • Possess personal and professional values aligned with holistic programming and have an appreciation for the diversity of families we serve.
  • Solutionoriented and have a strong willingness to learn in a team environment.
  • Have the ability to work independently as well as collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team.

Education and Experience:


  • Degree in Administration/ Business/Finance or Equivalent
  • Experience in an Aboriginal Organization; Administration and a Non-Profit environment is an asset.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Experience with financial management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a Team Player
  • Knowledge of ACCPAC/SAGE 300 would be an asset
  • Knowledge of EXCEL and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Excellent report and analytical skills
  • Experience in a financial industry would be asset
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

$23 - $25/HR

Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Secondary School (preferred)
