EDUCATION:

A secondary school diploma or employerapproved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Experience in at least two (2) categories of corporate service, real property, or environment domain, listed below:

a. Real Property Policies

b. Real Property Transactions

c. Facility Management

d. Facility Operations

e. Facility Maintenance

f. Accommodations planning

g. Project management

h. Environmental Management

i. Greening Operations

j. Administration

k. Finance or accounting

l. Human Resources

m. IT Support

Experience in researching, analyzing, and validating information, preparing reports, decks, briefing position papers and critiques, presenting results of findings to inform stakeholders and facilitate decisionmaking.
Experience facilitating effective engagement and coordination among different stakeholders during a planning process.
Experience in project delivery by developing scope, schedules and budgets and experience in development of risk mitigation.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS /

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a secondary diploma in a field relevant to the duties of the position such as Project Management, Business Administration, commerce, urban planning, engineering, or architecture. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized postsecondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Certification or training from a recognized real property association such as IFMA, BOMA, AAIC, REIC, or a recognized project management certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management).

Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS /

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in developing Building Management Plans and commissioning supporting studies such as Building Condition Reports and Investigation and Analysis Reports.
Experience in real property analysis and asset benchmarking in support of broad portfolio management objectives.
Experience in life cycle management and/or real estate investment analysis (e.g. valuation, revenue forecasts, rate of return, asset benchmarking/performance measurement).
Experience in working at a science or research facility.

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of the legislation, regulations and policies of the federal government pertaining to real property management including Canada Labour Code, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
Knowledge of the design, development and implementation of project plans to ensure that specific client operational needs are identified and met as well as supporting policies.
