About the Family Therapy Program


You will be part of a team that helps families understand each other's needs and find better ways to work together.

You will work with families with complicated dynamics and at least one child with a diagnosed mental health disorder using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.

Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day

About the Role

The Program Supervisor provides clinical, service delivery and human resource support, including clinical orientation and program area orientation.

The role advises on staff education and training, advises and implements program development as well as evaluation and quality improvement.

The Program Supervisor incorporates evidence-informed, best practice models into clinical programming and practice, and ensures clinical care remains consistent with CASA policies, procedures, and strategic and operational plans.


The Program Supervisor will:
Facilitate and lead clinical groups and initiatives as appropriate (e.g. group therapy, reflecting teams).

Review and approve clinical referrals based on program inclusion/exclusion criteria, presenting 'exceptional case' referrals to the Program Manager for final approval.

Inform the Program Manager of ongoing clinical supervision needs by providing input and recommendations on specific clinical practice challenges or strengths for program staff.

Provide in-the-moment coaching, role modelling and direction to program staff.
Support the Program Manager in building clinical competency assessment, development and maintenance for practice areas.

Provide provisional supervision to new staff or students as appropriate and assigned by the Program Manager or Senior Manager, Clinical Operations.

Coordinate, develop and facilitate annual program development retreats and other program development processes as directed by the Program Manager.
Train staff on role-specific data entry to meet program evaluation data requirements.

Complete clinical orientation, organize initial clinical shadowing/observation with other team members, engage in clinical observation for and explain clinical administrative processes to new staff, and develop and update clinical program handbooks for clinicians.

Observe new hires and provide recommendations and consultation to the Program Manager on any skill building or supports needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated leadership ability, with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including clinical practice, supervision and education.
Able to identify barriers and facilitate solution development.
Ability to work autonomously, independently and to prioritize work activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate degree in clinical psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing.
Registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
A minimum of five years clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
Conditions of Employment
A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.

Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
