Description:

As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families.

You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community.

You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.


Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years recent post-degree experience working with Children and Adolescents in a tertiary in-patient or outpatient setting required. Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team required. Experience providing evidence-based treatment for OCD required. Experience working with associated co-morbidities to OCD required. Experience providing treatment in groups required. Experience working from a trauma-focused perspective required. Experience in CBT and other evidence based practices required.

Demonstrated Clinical Skills in assessment, formulation and intervention with children, adolescents and families, as well as system and navigation of Child and Adolescent Services within AHS and the community required.

Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative and collaborative manner with schools and other community resources required. Sound clinical and professional judgement and ability to work independently required.

Must have calm, warm engaging style with proven ability to engage families and clients who can present as highly distressed and dysregulated.

This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver's license and a vehicle in good working order is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Brain Story Certification preferred. Connect Attachment Group trained preferred. Experience in Group work preferred. Experience working with ASD preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving trained preferred.
