    Job Description
    Kandrea Insulation is looking to recruit ambitious Industrial Insulators (Journeyperson).

    Candidates must possess CSTS 2020, CSO, Fall Protection, H2S Alive, and be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test.

    Position Summary

    Insulators apply, remove, and repair insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, cellular glass, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., ducting, piping, heat exchangers, tanks and vessels).

    Job Duties & Responsibilities
    Describes the materials used and identifies areas where fireproofing and fire stopping are used in a building system
    Recognizes the various applications and identify materials used in various spray applications
    Understands, identifies and describes the components and materials used in an Industrial system and commercial system
    Identifies applications, outlines layout process, fabricates and installs of pan-out and cut outs, concentric reducer, eccentric reducer, square to round transition, square to square transition, spherical or elliptical head, gored butterfly elbow and lateral fitting without supervision
    Identifies the terms and applications for pre-insulated panels
    Identifies the applications for removable soft covers Outlines the layout process, fabricates and installs removable box coverings on piping and equipment without supervision
    Interprets mechanical drawings to describe processes, identifies their divisions and components related to specifications and addendums related to an industrial system
    Identifies, defines and applies information found on ISO and P&ID drawings for the application of insulating materials without supervision
    Utilizes Mineral Wool and Pyrogel insulation material
    Safety is everyone's responsibility and you are responsible to look out for yourself and those around you
    Education & Experience
    Post-secondary or technical training is an asset
    Static equipment experience (such as vessels, heat exchange, etc.)
    Strong experience in pipe insulation
    Strong experience with using Mineral Wool and Pyrogel insulation material

    Safety tickets including:
    CSTS, CSO, Fall Protection, H2S Alive
    Skills
    Problem solving on a daily basis
    Interpersonal skills with clients and co-workers
    Organization and time management skills
    Communication both verbally and written
    Prioritizing multiple demands on a project or work sit
    Physical & Other Requirements
    Lifting, bending, climbing
    Ability to be exposed to various types of work environments
    Use of various shop equipment and trade-related hand tools
    Use of ladders or scaffolding
    Working in confined spaces
    Working with WHMIS products and materials
    Use of specialized PPE such as respirators, coveralls and safety glasses
    Key Competencies
    Quality Assurance – Ensures all quality assurance processes have been followed and products/services meet quality standards
    Safety – Ensures health and safety is a daily focus by acting in a safe manner at all time
