Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Fabricator to join our team.

In this position it will be your job to identify the root cause of a defect and fabricate the necessary components for the solution.

At times, you will be copying components and reverse engineering to build them to manufacturer specifications for reinstallation.

While working closely with other welders, it will be your duty to stay ahead of the game, creating parts and components for them to install and assemble.


Some jobs have shop drawings or blueprints, however, most do not, and it will be your responsibility to design or copy solutions for defective heavy equipment, replacing necessary pieces.

Ground engaging attachments, sanding trucks and plows, semi trailers, shipping containers, railcar components - a few examples of equipment you will work on.

Responsibilities:


  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts using various tools and equipment
  • Operate machinery such as saws, shears, presses, and grinders
  • Weld and join metal components using different welding techniques
  • Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:


  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
  • Proficient in metal fabrication techniques such as cutting, bending, and shaping
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Skilled in welding processes including MIG (aluminum, stainless and mild), TIG (aluminum and stainless), arc and stick welding
  • Familiarity with a plasma table, press brake, lathe, mill, and oxy/acetylene torch
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Up to date CWB certifications
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Willing to train others

Proof of past completed fabrication jobs required

Salary:
$20.00-$40.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Welding: 5 years (required)
