Located in Burnside Industrial Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Sunsel Systems provides electronics manufacturing services within the Atlantic region and all across Canada.

THE ROLE


We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join Sunsel Systems in a part-time role as a Janitor/Cleaner.


You must be willing and able to perform both light and heavy janitorial duties as needed in both office and industrial settings within our manufacturing facility.

You find a sense of pride and accomplishment in maintaining a clean and safe working environment for the day-to-day operations of the facility but can work without interrupting the workflow of others.


You must be able to follow instructions, work with mínimal supervision and be fluent in English with clear written and verbal communication skills.


This work can be labor intensive and requires physical strength, including the ability to bend, stretch reach and lift up to 40lbs.

You must be comfortable working with ladders, as well as crawling, squatting or kneeling in addition to standing for long periods of time.

Shifts will run from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a staggered weekly schedule ranging from hours per week with additional hours when necessary. Shifts could run earlier if necessary.


Equipment used can include:


  • Polishing machines
  • Upholstery cleaning equipment
  • Carpet cleaning machine
  • Waxing machine
  • Vacuum

Tasks can include:


  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors, elevators and stairs
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Clean internal offices: sweep, mop floors, vacuum carpet, wipe desks and cabinets, dust fixtures as required.
  • Clean all mirrors and windows including floor to ceiling windows.
  • Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, counters, faucets, door and stall handles, toilets and fixtures.
  • Replenish paper towel dispenser, toilet paper, soap and disinfectant dispensers throughout facility.
  • Empty all recycle bins and/or wastepaper baskets.
  • Clean and disinfect points of contact (door knobs, door plates, faucets, dispensing handles, phone receivers, and desktops).
  • Clean kitchen sinks, counters and inside microwaves and refrigerators.
  • Clean eating area floors and wipe down tables and chairs.
  • Keep supplies organized.
  • Report supply shortages to supervisor.
  • Report damage and/or vandalism.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Experience:

- cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
