Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their legal skills, expand their network, and further develop in their career.

Your responsibilities will include:

Independent carriage of a full caseload of litigation files
Providing timely advice and opinions to our business partners on both litigation and prelitigation matters
Attending on discoveries, mediations, settlement conferences, court appearances
Drafting of pleadings, briefs, settlement documentation
Participating in team and business partner meetings

Qualifications and Competencies

Law Degree and Membership in the Law Society of Ontario in good standing
Membership in another provincial bar an asset, but not required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil litigation with a firm or inhouse
Selfmotivated and effective working both independently and in a team setting
Proven ability to selfmanage, prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Excellent negotiation skills
Proven analytical and problemsolving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
Experience practising with virtual litigation tools and techniques
Proficient in MS Office programs and other rolerelated technology
Proven ability to focus, analyze and produce work that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, in a deadlinedriven environment
Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple workstreams concurr
