This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their legal skills, expand their network, and further develop in their career.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Independent carriage of a full caseload of litigation files
  • Providing timely advice and opinions to our business partners on both litigation and prelitigation matters
  • Attending on discoveries, mediations, settlement conferences, court appearances
  • Drafting of pleadings, briefs, settlement documentation
  • Participating in team and business partner meetings

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Law Degree and Membership in the Law Society of Ontario in good standing
  • Membership in another provincial bar an asset, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil litigation with a firm or inhouse
  • Selfmotivated and effective working both independently and in a team setting
  • Proven ability to selfmanage, prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
  • Experience practising with virtual litigation tools and techniques
  • Proficient in MS Office programs and other rolerelated technology
  • Proven ability to focus, analyze and produce work that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, in a deadlinedriven environment
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple workstreams concurr
