    About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Product Management to lead, scale, and continuously evolve our Legal Solutions portfolio. Reporting to the VP, Commercial Solutions Product Management, you will define and execute a comprehensive Legal Solutions strategy that delivers measurable business outcomes and creates meaningful value for Teranet and the Canadian legal ecosystem. You bring deep knowledge of end‑to‑end legal workflows, particularly within real estate and transactional law, and a strong understanding of how law firms operate across conveyancing, funds handling, compliance, and risk management. You have demonstrated experience digitizing, automating, and optimizing legal processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and client outcomes. This expertise is complemented by a strong command of the Canadian legal and regulatory landscape, including Law Society rules, trust accounting requirements, privacy obligations, and AML compliance, as well as familiarity with integrating into entrenched law firm systems and practice management environments. You will be accountable for the commercial performance and success of the Legal Solutions portfolio, driving sustainable revenue growth, strong return on investment, and measurable customer value. You will do this by embedding trusted, compliant, and workflow‑native solutions directly into day‑to‑day legal practices—materially improving matter velocity, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency at scale. You will define and execute a multi‑year strategy and roadmap, working cross‑functionally to translate market and customer needs into scalable, compliant solutions that integrate seamlessly into legal practice management systems and lawyer workflows. You will rigorously balance customer value, technical feasibility, and commercial viability to prioritize the highest‑impact investments. You will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from discovery and ideation through delivery, optimization, and retirement, using customer insight, usage data, and commercial performance metrics to continuously improve product value and business outcomes. You will ensure organizational readiness and execution by partnering cross‑functionally to validate opportunities, align investment decisions, and deliver measurable value. All products will be client‑centric, scalable, secure, and compliant with applicable legal, privacy, and regulatory expectations. You will build, lead, and scale a high‑performing team of product professionals by setting clear strategic direction, establishing well‑defined priorities, and allocating resources to the highest‑impact initiatives. You will coach and develop top talent, foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement, and hold teams accountable for delivering measurable customer, product, and business outcomes through strong collaboration and disciplined execution. You will also lead initiatives that span multiple portfolios, helping to establish, optimize, and embed best‑in‑class product management, product development, and delivery practices across the Commercial Solutions Product Management organization. You will drive consistent ways of working, elevate product craft and execution discipline, and ensure teams are aligned around shared standards, governance, and outcomes—enabling scaled execution, faster value realization, and improved commercial performance.

Reason for Vacancy: Net New Role

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Lead Strategy & Commercialization: Define long‑term direction, set priorities, and build strategic roadmaps that drive growth, market relevance, and value creation.
    • Drive New Business & Revenue Opportunities: Identify emerging market needs, validate business cases, launch new offerings, and support go‑to‑market execution.
    • Oversee Portfolio & Prioritization: Manage a product portfolio to ensure resource alignment, timely delivery, measurable outcomes, and continuous customer value.
    • Build & Lead a High‑Performing Product Team: Recruit, coach, and develop talent while fostering a collaborative, performance‑driven culture.

    • Ensure Governance, Compliance & Performance Management: Establish clear metrics, assess risks, and make data‑driven adjustments to ensure accountability and alignment with organizational standards.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a relevant discipline or comparable experience is an asset.
    • 10+ years working in strategy, product management, commercialization and monetization roles within B2B or enterprise environments, spanning the end‑to‑end product lifecycle (ideation through sunsetting) and commercialization/go‑to‑market execution.
    • 10+ years working within or alongside legal sector environments—including real estate, corporate, and litigation practices—with deep experience across matter intake, due diligence, title/search workflows, document automation, closing processes, and post closing activities, translating this domain expertise into scalable, data driven product innovation and technology integration.
    • 7+ years building and delivering products, APIs, or platforms for organizations of comparable scale and complexity as Teranet, with clear commercial outcomes (e.g., revenue creation/expansion).
    • 5+ years of people leadership, directly managing Senior Product Managers, Product Managers, Product Owners, Senior Product Analysts; proven track record of developing talent, coaching, and leading high‑performing teams.
    • Legal Technology & Workflow Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of legal sector technology ecosystems and workflows—and experience integrating data into practice management, conveyancing, and document automation platforms.
    • Data Product Commercialization: Proven ability to build, price, and scale data driven solutions for law firms and legal service providers, with a track record of converting pilots into enterprise level adoption.
    • Regulatory & Compliance Fluency: Strong command of legal data standards, privacy requirements, law society guidelines, and risk management practices, enabling rapid procurement and compliant product deployment.
    • AI/Analytics Application in Legal Workflows: Familiarity with how AI/ML enhances due diligence, risk assessment, document review, fraud prevention, and workflow automation—and ability to translate data assets into measurable efficiency gains.
    • Ecosystem Partnership Leadership: Experience developing strategic partnerships across law firms, conveyancing platforms, legal tech vendors, Title Insurers, and complementary service providers to embed data solutions directly into core legal processes.
    • Portfolio Leadership: Experienced in managing diverse customer segments, with strengths in prioritization, value-based trade-offs, and value-driven decisions.
    • Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of commercialization and monetization models, pricing, customer segmentation, and product‑market fit; experience sponsoring and developing business cases and tracking ROI.
    • Customer & Market Orientation: Consistent engagement with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to gather insights and inform product strategy.
    • Cross‑functional Influence: Ability to align Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Enablement/Support, Finance, Legal/Risk, and Data & Analytics around clear outcomes.
    • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Converts ambiguous business needs into actionable strategies; evaluates trade‑offs between speed, scalability, security, and compliance.
    • Technical Fluency: Familiarity with agile / lean product methodologies and modern product/platform concepts (APIs, data platforms, cloud/integration patterns); working understanding of AI/ML; comfort with data visualization and storytelling.
    • Communication Excellence: Concise written and verbal communication; able to convey complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
    • Creative Problem‑Solving: Navigates ambiguity; designs pragmatic, innovative solutions that balance commercial objectives with enterprise constraints.
