Hours: 35 Hours per week; Monday - Friday, with participation in after hours on-call duties

Qualifications:


  • A diploma or certificate in human services or a related field and/or experience working with youth at risk and/or youth/adults with developmental disabilities is required for this position.
  • At least 6 months previous related work experience in specialized supportive housing and nonspecialized supportive housing programs is required. Direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of communitybased programs and related provincial and community support is preferred.
  • Previous supervision experience is an asset

Requirements:


  • Current Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) Certification.
  • Excellent writing, data collection, and facilitation skills.
  • Computer literacy (including internet).
  • Safe driving record abstract will be required.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Skills & Abilities:


  • Good verbal and written reporting skills.
  • Good organization, computer literacy, as well as time and house management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of theory, principles and practices working with Trauma, Autism, or other challenges.

Additional Information:


  • A moderate level of physical fitness is an asset since direct delivery of program activities may involve standing, walking, exercising with the individual, bending, lifting, etc.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, this may include support shifts or 24 hour shifts.
  • Must have the ability to be on call during the week as well as scheduled weekend on call rotations.
  • If you have a restriction from your physician or WorkSafe BC from working with individuals with substance misuse, or physical and verbal aggression, this would not be a good fit for you.
