Qualifications:

A diploma or certificate in human services or a related field and/or experience working with youth at risk and/or youth/adults with developmental disabilities is required for this position.
At least 6 months previous related work experience in specialized supportive housing and nonspecialized supportive housing programs is required. Direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of communitybased programs and related provincial and community support is preferred.
Previous supervision experience is an asset

Requirements:

Current Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) Certification.
Excellent writing, data collection, and facilitation skills.
Computer literacy (including internet).
Safe driving record abstract will be required.
Valid BC Driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Skills & Abilities:

Good verbal and written reporting skills.
Good organization, computer literacy, as well as time and house management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of theory, principles and practices working with Trauma, Autism, or other challenges.

Additional Information:

A moderate level of physical fitness is an asset since direct delivery of program activities may involve standing, walking, exercising with the individual, bending, lifting, etc.
Must have the ability to work flexible hours, this may include support shifts or 24 hour shifts.
Must have the ability to be on call during the week as well as scheduled weekend on call rotations.
If you have a restriction from your physician or WorkSafe BC from working with individuals with substance misuse, or physical and verbal aggression, this would not be a good fit for you.
