PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:


Reporting directly to the CTO, the Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering and Operations role is to plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational infrastructure activities of the IT infrastructure department, as well as provide direction and support for infrastructure solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.

This individual will collaborate directly with the IT Senior Management team and decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning

  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes of the business organization as a member of the IT Senior Management team.
  • Lead IT infrastructure strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing infrastructure initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT infrastructure organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
  • Establish IT infrastructure departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Direct development and execution of an enterprisewide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
Acquisition & Deployment

  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and costeffective investment of financial resources in IT infrastructure resources, including staffing, sourcing, and purchasing.
  • Develop, track, and control the information technology infrastructure's annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
  • Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or reengineering of the IT infrastructure organization.
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate IT Senior Management and executives on their competitive or financial impact.
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including vendors and partner organizations.
  • Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT infrastructure staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
Operational Management

  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT infrastructure spending and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT infrastructure services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.
  • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Oversee and direct the activities of the core infrastructure groups (Network, Unix, Windows, Middleware, Cloud, Database, System Operations, and Infrastructure Delivery).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Education & Certification

  • University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or business administration.
  • Master's degree in either of these fields with technology as a core component preferred.
Knowledge & Experience

  • 10 + years experience in managing and/or directing an IT operation.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing complex enterprise project implementations and launches.
  • An excellent people leader who is passionate about delivering highquality technology services now and for the future, with a high level of strategic planning and execution experience that has been delivered through people, technology, and processes.
  • Sound knowledge of cyber security, Agile Methodology, Virtualization, Cloud Automation etc.
  • Experience in running large multidisciplined technology/engineering teams.
  • Proven experience managing various largescale enterprise network topologies including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Security and services.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and processes
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, multitask and manage multiple priorities.
