_ Summary:

SJC Print brings 65 years of expertise to North America's largest publishers, retailers, cataloguers and financial corporations.

Reporting to the Regional Business Manager - Eastern Canada, Site Supervisor - Halifax Print Center will establish and maintain a high level of Customer Service to our client.

He/she will manage & produce digital and offset print work, including bindery, from digital and hardcopy sources with established high standards while maintaining cost effectiveness.

This position is also responsible for estimating, billing, and all aspects of financial reporting for the center. Knowledge of Offset print and terminology required.


_ In this role you will:_

  • Coordinate and direct operations to ensure constant improvement in service quality in line with established high standards while maintaining cost effectiveness;
  • Order and maintain stock levels and other supplies for print center and mailrooms as per client needs.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Digital and Offset printing processes and terminology used.
  • Establish work priorities according to delivery dates, the present schedule and material requirements;
  • When needed, offer proactive solutions and help to sales personnel and clients;
  • Ensure planning, billing and all printing requests are handled without error and as rapidly as possible;
  • Ensure that production and quality standards are at the highest level;
  • Manipulate digital files with the appropriate software as required to make print ready;
  • Control inventory and complete administrative tasks;
  • Prime contact for the client
  • Complete and submit production and sales reports;
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed;

And a bit about yourself:


  • Minimum 5 years in a printing environment preferred or equivalent experience
  • Graphic Design experience
  • Understand the complete printing process
  • Postsecondary diploma in Graphics Arts or similar program/ discipline
  • Postsecondary education or technical certification or equivalent
  • Strong oral, written and communication skills
  • Must be a motivated selfstarter with a positive attitude and a high level of integrity
  • General Computer Skills
  • Quick learner, passionate and focused
  • A proactive team player
  • Experience in the area of client services; this requires dealing with various clients at different levels
