Your role


With appropriate direction from a producer and/or switcher/director, you organize and contribute to the preparation, production and post-production of a televised newscast.

Although work is generally performed according to accepted standards and procedures, there is latitude for independent judgment and initiative. At the same time, there is a high requirement for accuracy and attention to detail. Work regularly involves the coordination of the activities of others.
You will be responsible for preparing the required materials and will assist in the presentation of scripts.

You will also be responsible for gathering information required to produce the show, ensuring that the necessary revisions are made to lineups, and informing all affected personnel of any changes.

You will also compile and proofread all information for credit lists and keys.


Please note that the part-time permanent position is based on an atypical Saturday & Sunday schedule with shifts that may end in the evening.

  • Community college diploma in radio or television arts or the equivalent.
  • Two or more years' relevant experience during which you have become familiar with the fields of television production, IT, and broadcasting technologies.
  • Superior Frenchlanguage skills (spoken and written) is mandatory; working knowledge of spoken and written English (An asset).
  • Good knowledge of newsroom operations.
  • Proven knowledge of iNEWS and MediaCentral editing software.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to research and gather information from a variety of sources.
  • Good technical and production skills.
  • Excellent prioritizing and problemsolving skills with a demonstrated attention to accuracy under time constraint.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Openness to new work methods.
