Under the general direction of the Director, Corporate Communications, the Community Investment and Public Safety Supervisor is
responsible for providing direct oversight of the corporation's community investment strategy and product portfolio, as well as
overseeing development and execution of the Corporation's public safety and education initiatives. To do this, the supervisor will
lead a team of community investment and public safety professionals.


_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Lead the development, execution and delivery of the Corporation's community investment and public safety strategy by
supporting staff in the identification, conceptualization and design of value-added market segment programming and
employee focussed engagement initiatives c/w delivery strategies.

  • Integrate public safety activities and messaging into existing corporate communication plans and strategies.
  • Identify and implement improvements in community investment operations and public safety processes and programming consistent with other corporate communications initiatives and Manitoba Hydro's commitment to continuous improvement
  • Monitor and assess the corporation's entire community investment portfolio including: corporate donations; corporate grants;
corporate memberships; corporate sponsorships; employee giving; employee champions; Hydro X; provincial social &
recreational committees; scholastic awards; volunteer grants; and support the Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education
Centre.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams comprised of crossfunctional staff from across the corporation to implement multipronged
community investment strategies ensuring marketability, clarity, accountability and consistency with the corporation's strategic
priorities and overall objectives.

  • Define and develop priorities and objectives for specific public safety initiatives to ensure program effectiveness and ensure
participation and input from other interested departments and operating groups.

  • Use customer satisfaction data and other metrics to monitor effectiveness of and maintain accountability for CI and Public
Safety activities.

  • File required CRA forms with Corporate Accounting for corporate donations to registered charities.
  • Advise and prepare recommendations for senior management on sensitive community investment requests.
  • Lead the corporate response to external requests for information relating to the Corporation's various community investments.
Oversee the development of relationships and partnerships with industry associations, trade allies, and customer associations
in the pursuit of various initiatives.

  • Oversee contracts for consulting services and the provision of promotional items.
  • Represent Manitoba Hydro on various external committees and boards;
  • Keep abreast of national and local developments and trends within the community investment sector.
  • Prepare and monitor financial forecasts and expenditures and variance explanations for short and long term planning using


  • SAP.

  • Required to travel and/or attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

_ Qualifications_

  • A Bachelor of Business Administration and a minimum of five years of directly related communications or marketing
experience in the field of corporate citizenship/community investment, with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
OR

  • A twoyear Diploma in Creative Communications and seven years of directly related communications or marketing experience
in the field of corporate citizenship /community investment, with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience.
OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of the socioeconomic, cultural, environmental and political dynamics within the province of Manitoba.
  • Expertise in marketing targeted community investment and safety programming from concept to delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in market analysis and strategy formulation and a thorough understanding of the academic, arts,
