RiskCheck is seeking an
Environmental Due Diligence Associate Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT)/Hydrogeologist or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/Project Engineer to assist the environmental team by undertaking independent technical work in Phase I-II Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation projects as per O.Reg.

153/04.


General Responsibilities:


  • Project discussions to the engineering team of Environmental Due Diligence jobs including but not limited to investigation planning, conceptual design, fieldwork coordination and management, results analysis and remediation designs.
  • Communicate with current and perspective clients in making informed decisions.
  • Identify and explore business development opportunities with the senior team.
  • Outline and assign work and provide guidance for technical accuracy and adequacy. Ensure that all project and proposal work is carried out in full compliance with corporate policies, administrative procedures, contract conditions and legal and ethical requirements.
  • Planning, participating in and supporting environmental projects including coordination, preparation of cost estimates, proposals, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, monitoring project progress, project scheduling/resourcing and meeting deadlines and budgets to meet client requirements.
  • Preparation reports for site investigations including, but not limited to, Phase I/Phase II ESAs (including Record of Site Condition), Due Diligence Risk Assessments, soil and groundwater reports, air quality sampling and soil management plans.
  • Provide technical advice to management and operating departments.
  • Provide mentorships to junior staff for technical knowledge and field practices.
  • Monitor and keep abreast of emerging technical developments, trends and innovations to increase the Company's competitive advantage and meet current/future client requirements.
  • Assist in developing regulatory framework, including environmental work procedures and templates.
  • Develop, provide and promote technical solutions, options and initiatives to meet client needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor Engineering (Civil/Chemical/Environmental) or Bachelor of Science (Geology/Geoscience) from a recognized University.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • A strong understanding of groundwater and soil sampling techniques, soil descriptions and terminology, and quality assurance/quality control is desired.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting including drilling, large scale excavations and other remedial field activities.
  • Chartered Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng) or Professional Geoscientists Ontario (P.Geo) or eligible to be licensed within 12 months is considered an asset.
  • Experience in soil management will be highly regarded as would experience in senior review of proposals and technical reports.
  • Committed to technical excellence.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
