Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., which employs 3600 people and operates three tire manufacturing facilities in Nova Scotia, is seeking an Industrial Cost Manager to join its Granton, Nova Scotia manufacturing team.
Contribute to the fulfillment of the facility's annual objectives by focusing on and monitoring the economic and financial impacts of strategic and operational decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage economic performance by validating and activating the main drivers of value creation,
- participate in defining middle and long term strategy, developing targets, and defining priority criteria,
- direct cost-reduction activities,
- guarantee the quality of economic data (variances in relation to standard costs, inventory, etc) and ensure implementation of remedial and preventive action plan, monitor implementation of decisions taken,
- develop the finance management competencies of non-financial staff,
- advise and challenge the management team on matters of economic performance and oversee the organization's economic functions,
- responsible for the site cost indicators and ensures alignment across all levels of leadership (frontline, support, and site management), and
- steers and drives progress through the above activities while focusing on a limited number of KPI with no direct people management responsibilities.
Requirements for this position include:
- Degree in Business or directly related field of study,
- 5+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment,
- accounting designation (completed or in progress), and
- financial/business acumen with proven ability to lead and influence change.
Assets for this position include:
- CPA,
- Experience with Standard Cost'
- MBA, and
- excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to develop positive relationships with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams and customers,
- strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues, and
- superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
