JOB OVERVIEW

  • Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and resultsdriven professional to join our team in the role of Manager Strategy & Reporting.
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible for supporting OPG's strategic planning focused on sustainable revenue growth by maintaining market intelligence, assessing key strategic developments across OPG's family of companies and facilitating the integration of business intelligence, information, perspectives and analyses. This position presents a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting OPG's rapid growth and to be associated to some of the group's most transformative projects.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Support development of corresponding business unit strategies to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and priorities and contribute to drafting reporting and updates on business opportunities & enterprise priorities.
  • Monitor and assess key corporate strategic developments related to nuclear, hydro and/or other growth development (internal and external), and facilitate the integration of business intelligence, information, perspectives and analyses. This position routinely maintains and advises upon confidential information and these recommendations are expected to have a significant impact to OPG's regulatory, business and staffing/resourcing strategies, collective bargaining positions, and financial position.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand competitive landscape, energy & electricity policy, business opportunities and threats, and industry trends.
  • Prepare regular briefing reports and special assessments; undertake both primary and secondary market, business issue or policy research.
  • Conduct and administer work engaging in the Strategy and Business Development organization. Plan, organize, and schedule work, maintain work quality and quantity, and provide advice and guidance to Business Units and senior management
  • Perform specific assessments and investigations on a range of strategic matters
  • Monitor external best practices in corporate strategic planning and analysis.
  • Support a range of strategic development, growth, planning and commercial initiatives working alongside functions and business units.
  • Assist in review of scenario analysis and provide support to senior management for the creation of longterm strategies.
  • Respond to requests by Senior Management and provide background information and rationale to support Management recommendations.
  • Support the development of corporate strategic direction through research and analysis.
  • Work with Senior Management to assist in the assessment of various scenarios and the implementation of strategic plans.
  • Coordinate processes necessary to resolve emerging issues that cross business unit lines. Schedule and organize meetings, identify participants for meetings, prepare the work, taking into account deadlines, review processes, resource availability and other key planning activities.
  • Participate in preparing presentations and reports for Senior Management and Shareholder reporting.

EDUCATION

  • University Degree with a focus in in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a relevant study is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
