Position Summary:

Maintains invertebrate cultures (grow algai and mutation accumulation lines, collect tissue, extract RNA, convert RNA to cDNA)
Updates lab protocols
Make recommendations and improve the existing protocols.
Review existing literature
Select most appropriate methods: extraction protocols, sequencing platform, bioinformatics pipeline.
Attend meeting and report on progress of the experiement.
Train undergraduate work study student

Qualifications:
Knowledge of evolution, invertebrates, genetics and bioinformatics; Superior communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience and education:

Senior undergraduate student with previous lab and bioinformatics experience.
