We
are looking for a Prep Assistant with Drill, Saw and Punch experience to join our team. You will be responsible for the setup and operation of forming and plasma cutting equipment in order to make routine bends, alignments, cuts and forms of materials such as metal sheets, plates, and structural shapes.

Key Responsibilities

Gather materials to fill work orders, set up machines with materials
Read and interpret specifications, drawings, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances, and dimensions. Translate instructions into actions
Set up, calibrate, and operate cut punch, and drilling machinery
Responsible for assuring productivity and quality standards are consistently met
Verify conformance of parts to stock list and drawings using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauges, and micrometres
Mark all parts accurately
Conduct work safely in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Ensure any issues or recommendations concerning safety, productivity and quality are raised to your supervisor
Perform regular housekeeping and maintain a safe and clean work area
Participate in Safety and Quality Programs including Audits and Meetings
Participate and promote Continuous Improvement Activities

Skills & Qualifications:

Ideally prep experience, drill operation, press and saw is an asset
Good understand of steel types and processing is an asset
Ability to pay attention to details of a project or task
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required
Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
Demonstrated ability to read and understand drawings
Demonstrated ability to read and understand English (verbal and written) instructions
Positive attitude towards new challenges
Lift approximately 50 lbs
Must be eligible to work in Canada and work at the Innisfail, AB location
