What YOU Will Do
- Manage project supplier and contractor relationships and accounts with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance ;
- Identify potential subtrades and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring best value for money ;
- Prepare tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/suppliers including: Term and condition of contract, Construction methodologies and schedule, Pricing requirements in conjunction with other project team members;
- Develop and maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance metrics ;
- Monitor supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans as necessary ;
- Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and vendors ;
- Control the process if additional change orders are needed ;
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly ;
- Develop and prepare reports for the managing staff to give an update of the procurement process ;
- Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
What YOU Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in procurement or quantity surveying, preferably in ICI construction ;
- Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local suppliers across Canada would be an asset ;
- Practical experience of procurement processes, methods, practices, and contract administration as well as accounting and scheduling principles ;
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management ;
- Strong computer skills, specifically with MS Office and specialized procurement software ;
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives ;
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities ;
- Excellent organizational skills ;
- Ability to work productively with nominal supervision ;
- Availability to travel to monitor supplier's performance, production and schedules as needed.
