About our Destination Development & Marketing Group


The Destination Development & Marketing Group is focused on driving sustainable year-round visitation through program and initiatives that positively impact Edmonton's image and awareness in regional and international markets.

More specifically on the destination development side, we help develop and showcase the amazing tourism experiences Edmonton has to offer visitors.

We work closely with local businesses, ground operators, attractions, experience providers and festivals to help develop products and experiences that are authentic to Edmonton.


About the Position:


The Global Marketing Team is excited to announce an opening for the position of Marketing Account Manager In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Marketing Accounts and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Business Events B2B marketing campaign, content marketing, and online marketing strategies.

Collaborating seamlessly with the Director of Marketing Accounts and the entire Explore Edmonton marketing team, you'll be at the helm of steering all marketing initiatives within the Business Events sphere.

Your primary objectives will revolve around bolstering Edmonton's economic footprint through MICE attraction, fostering increased inbound travel, enhancing stakeholder and client experiences, amplifying the positive brand recognition of Edmonton, and fostering robust engagement with the Business Events brand platform.


  • Developing strategies that increase organizational collaboration and efficiencies. Pivots work and contributes support based on evolving priorities among the marketing team.
  • Advocating for and champions the strategic marketing goals of Business Events both externally and internally throughout Explore Edmonton.
  • Setting and managing the ongoing reporting of Business Events marketing goals, KPIs and evaluation metrics.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with industry stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the management of major projects and campaigns for Business Events including video production, website development, campaign planning and more.
  • Understanding the goals and priorities of Business Events and effectively communicates them to internal collaborators.
  • Activating the internal marketing services of the marketing team to execute projects and campaigns.
  • Sourcing and managing external agency collaboration as required.
  • Providing ongoing marketing support to clients, ambassadors, and event producers with the goal of increasing stakeholder satisfaction and return event bookings/visitation.
  • Working closely with Event Development to support brand & design deliverables for Event Developmentled events, activations & VIK specific to Business Events
  • Overseeing brand development and brand compliance for Business Events.
  • Collaborating with the graphic designer to produce all branded collateral including sales collateral, proposals, advertising, etc.
  • Collaborating with third party agencies to initiate major branding projects.
  • Contributing to public relations initiatives including media releases, story pitches, media events and media interviews by collaborating with the Strategic Communications team.
  • Planning and executing annual media buys (traditional and digital) with national and international publications in alignment with inmarket sales activity.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and execute digital B2B sales campaigns with the goals of increasing event booking conversions.
  • Collaborating with the content team to develop and produce quality content and storytelling collateral with the goal of increasing positive brand recognition of Edmonton and the Business Events team.
