Regional Operations Manager - Overall Purpose


Reporting to the VP Operations, the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is accountable for key financial and performance measures Sales, Margin and Restaurant profit within his/her region.

The ROM is a restaurant's primary point of contact and is responsible to partner with Restaurant Owners / GM to develop and facilitate the required capabilities to deliver results within their assigned restaurants.

The ROM reviews audits and provides insights and tools to coach the Restaurant Owner / GM drive their business results.

The ROM facilitates and coaches the development of action plans in partnership with the Restaurant Owner / GM to improve Operational Performance, Guest Experience and Food Safety.

The ROM has a strong culinary background in FSR with strength in inventories, food production/execution and quality.

The ROM oversees a region with overall responsibility for plus 10 corporate and franchise locations, the span will vary by region and Brand.

Strong computer skills an asset.


Responsibilities

_ Deliver Great Guest Experiences_

  • Establish and build a trusting relationship with the Franchise Partner by conducting valuable, purpose driven restaurant visits with operational intensity to improve business results.
  • Ambassador for Operational Excellence, lead and otherwise champion the delivery, execution and adoption Food Quality standards in stores.
  • On point, pivotal representative for Foodtastic in the investigation and resolution of high care customer complaints including liaison with complainants.
  • Evaluates Audit and Mystery Shop reports completed and coaches the Restaurant Owner / GM to find continuous Improvements within their business.
  • Coach Restaurant Owner's in the moment to educate and inspire a change in behavior. Communicate and share brand standards and available resources that assist the restaurant owner/leader to remedy the gaps.

  • Complete 4 Restaurant Audits per year for A, B and C stores
  • Establish clear business goals and financial targets with Franchise partner/GM.
  • Engage in twoway communication with timely and effective followup for Franchise partner/GM to deliver on all requirements with a sense of urgency.
  • Liaise between restaurant owner/leader and brand leadership team to ensure issues that have been identified that are negatively impacting GE metrics are communicated.
  • Lead all areas of new restaurant openings and renovations and assist to ensuring new restaurants and renovated reach their business goals.
  • Visit restaurants on the frequency required by the restaurant segmentation model (A, B and C)
  • Communicate and influence store level buyin of restaurant ready marketing plans and programs; initiate where required, local store marketing

_ People Development - Associate Engagement_

  • Coach and develop restaurant leaders to deliver Great Guest Experiences and on their individual development plans for corporate locations.
  • Coach Restaurant Leaders to provide developmental feedback to increase leadership capability within the restaurants.
  • Follow up to ensure Franchise partners who are enrolled in the Management and Chef training program are progressing on track as per the schedule and measure the competence of the Franchise Partner at the critical check points to flag potential gaps/issues.

_ Food/Restaurant Safety_

  • Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, health and safety, and WHMIS within the region.
  • Ensure effective implementation and compliance of the health board and Pest Control Programs.
