- Prepare therapy and education materials to support screening, assessment and intervention
- Support the recommendations made by supervising Speech‑Language Pathologist in the implementation of therapy programs
- Assist the Speech‑Language Pathologist in training of children, youth and their parents or other support personnel
- Provide fun intervention and innovative therapy activities to target communication goals based on the child's interests and abilities
- Provide evidence‑based therapy intervention while tracking progress with proper documentation
- Other duties as assigned
- Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma
- Two years of recent related work experience in a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs
- Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound, and Timiskaming
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team environment under the supervision of registered Speech‑Language Pathologists
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Ontario driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
- Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer software for the purpose of screening, documentation, and communication
- Bilingual (English/French) is preferred
- Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

ONE KIDS PLACE Children's Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family‑centered practice.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Position: Communicative Disorders Assistant
Location: Nipissing
Effective: ASAP (12 month contract)
Status: Unionized
Job type: Contract, Full Time – 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
To ensure we can meet the needs of our communities at times that work best for them, staff are expected to maintain flexibility in their schedules, which may include working outside standard business hours as per client needs.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Communicative Disorders Assistant will work under the supervision of a registered Speech‑Language Pathologist to ensure coordinated delivery of rehabilitation services within an interdisciplinary, family‑centered environment. They will be responsible for implementing therapy programs, providing training to children, youth and their parents, and ensuring documentation is consistent with agency standards.

L'assistant(e) en troubles de la communication travaillera sous la supervision d'un(e) orthophoniste agréé(e) afin d'assurer la prestation coordonnée de services de réadaptation dans un environnement interdisciplinaire et axé sur la famille. Il/Elle sera responsable de la mise en œuvre des programmes thérapeutiques, de la formation des enfants, des jeunes et de leurs parents, et de la conformité de la documentation aux normes de l'organisme.
