day to day responsibilities:


Career Connections Program Coordination

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of trans and nonbinary career connections program in collaboration with Sherbourne staff, community partners and community members.
  • Under the guidance of the Program Manager, establishes goals and deliverables for each cycle of a group.
  • Identifies barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews.
  • Conducts assessment to determine current service gaps for unemployed and underemployed trans and nonbinary population and identify resources to address the gap.
  • Conducts intake for participants, registers participants for job fair and trans employment support groups.
  • Coordinates the development of a resource list of transfriendly services, programs, and tools to distribute to job fair attendees.
  • Develops a comprehensive plan for the inaugural trans job fair, including logistics, outreach, and marketing and implement programs focused on the optimization and continuous improvement of the performances and practices.
  • Develops workback plans to ensure that services meet established goals and deliverables.
  • Ensures effective communications with other departments within Sherbourne Health as well as with external agencies.
  • Responds to internal enquires about trans and nonbinary career connections program.
  • Acts as a resource for participants and Sherbourne team members providing information and support, as needed.
  • Fosters and maintains relationships with participants.
  • Schedules activities related to career map sessions, job search workshops, group mentorship including coordinating speakers/guest facilitators, booking space or locations, and supporting participants.
  • Coordinates client engagement and codesign working group.
  • Coordinates the creation of a new employment support group that is cofacilitated by a mental health counselor.
  • Communicates effectively with other Sherbourne programs and partner agencies to ensure service is integrated.
  • Liaises and collaborate with other Sherbourne teams and building maintenance to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of employment fair, and group activities.

Community Development

  • Liaise and collaborate with external groups/agencies, strengthen, and build partnerships with other organizations aimed at fostering the development of collaborative projects.
  • Responds to community inquiries about group programs and support available.
  • Initiates outreach to priority populations to increase accessibility within group programs.
  • Liaise with and provide data and information to Management upon request as it relates to the program.
  • Foster ongoing partners
