Within the BC Public Service Agency, the Centralized Services Branch provides front-line, first point of contact HR support to BC Public Servants.

The team is also responsible for maintaining personnel files for all BC Public Service employees.

In addition, the team plays an integral part in the broader Human Resources Operations (HRO) Division providing collaborative support to the other operational branches of HRO and lines of business within the Public Service Agency (PSA).

The Centralized Services Branch consists of three main lines of business:
Strategic Projects and Operational Support, HR Service Centre and Knowledge and Records Management.

The Records Clerk is responsible for providing effective and efficient records management support and services.

You will assist the BC Public Service Agency Records Management team with a project that involves processing physical paper records held onsite in preparation for an upcoming office move.

Your responsibilities will include the digitization, offsiting and destruction of the records in accordance with government records management policies.

You are a highly motivated and self-directed person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high volume work environment. You will thrive in this in-person environment and on this collaborative, productive team.

You are also results-oriented and a person who prides themselves on their excellent attention to detail and excel at teamwork and collaboration.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and six (6) months related experience; OR,
  • Evergreen Certificate and one (1) year related experience; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:

  • Experience with records management.
  • Experience working in an office and team setting.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Additional years of experience in the required related experience areas listed above.
  • Experience using an electronic records management system (such as EDRMS).
  • Experience using a records classification system (such as ARCS/ORCS).
  • Completion of postsecondary coursework in records management, information management, office administration, business or public administration, or a related field.

Willingness statement:


  • This position will require you to lift and move boxes weighing up to 20 kg and work with dusty archive paper records.

There is currently a temporary opportunity available until November 29, 2024, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.

This position has full time on-site requirements.
This position is excluded from union membership.
