The role of Administrative Assistant is being hired through the Wage Subsidy - Canada Summer Jobs.

The role of Administrative Assistant will be full-time (35 hours weekly) temporary positions, spanning over the course of 8 weeks, from your start date.

Working alongside rural, remote, Indigenous and other communities, Pinnguaq supports the development of STEAM skills through innovative technology, art, and play.


What does success look like at Pinnguaq?

  • Engaging with thousands of young learners and adults across the country through the delivery of communitycentred workshops
  • Designing and deploying interactive experiences, online learning modules, and maker kits to teach STEAM fundamentals to all ages
  • Publishing the nationallyrecognized Root & STEM magazine, create a space to explore diverse voices and stories in STEAM
  • Operating makerspaces in Nunavut & Ontario providing handson access to tools, equipment, and training for inquisitive minds and makers

Job Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Providing assistance with packing and relocation of office equipment, stationary supplies, and electronics during our move
  • Warmly greeting guests as they arrive at the office
  • Providing visitors with essential information and guidance
  • Managing incoming calls and recording messages
  • Organizing and dispatching mail
  • Ensuring the upkeep of files and other various administrative tasks
  • Coordinating meetings and overseeing calendars
  • Assisting in addressing any officerelated concerns promptly and effectively
  • Other duties as assigned

Attributes and Qualifications:

- _Must be between the ages of 15-30 years old_
- _Either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred and be legally entitled to work in Canada._
- _Hold a local address to Kawartha Lakes, ON._
- _Capable of lifting 40-50 lbs safely_

  • Comfortable using programs such as Google Suite.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently verbally and in writing
  • Pinnguaq Association prioritizes the safety of our employees and the community members we work with, because of this we may require both new hires and current team members to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS). The approval for acceptance of a VSS lies with our People and Culture Team and Management. To ensure uptodate documentation, please ensure it has not been over six months since the date of completion of the VSS you are submitting. The expense for the VSS falls on the individual, not the company, if there are any concerns regarding this please speak to the People and Culture Team. Additionally, please confirm you're completing the VSS in the correct region._
