Valleyhaven is nestled in Chilliwack, an area renowned for its beautiful country setting and vibrant urban core. The three-story residence provides a safe supportive home, and 24-hour nursing care, for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.


Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the Cook is responsible for the daily production and delivery of assigned breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menu items according to an established menu.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare set menu items while maintaining high food quality standards, including preparing therapeutic modifications for residents
  • Ensuring timely meal service delivery for each dining area
  • Maintaining proper food rotation, practice established sanitation and cleanliness procedures
  • Promoting positive communication and working relationships with your team

Your Qualifications - The Must Have's

  • FOODSAFE 1 certification is required, FOODSAFE 2 is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Previous culinary experience in healthcare environment, or working with seniors is an asset
  • Ability to organize the kitchen workload and complete tasks within the allocated timeframes
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing
  • Must successfully pass the prescribed criminal records check for the vulnerable sector and provide proof of COVID19 vaccinations
