THE OPPORTUNITY


Thomson Power systems (a Regal Rexnord company) is a leading manufacturer of electrical products and systems for use in the Power Generation Industry for over 40 years.

We are currently looking for a best in-class Value Stream Leader to work closely with our Operations Director and valued colleagues.

The Value Stream Leader will manage all related manufacturing and production activities for the department through the Regal Business System (RBS) which enables continuous improvement throughout the value stream.

You will lead Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost Performance to exceed our stakeholders' expectations and enable growth in the business.

YOUR MISSION

Organizational Leadership

  • Be responsible for the Value Stream and all aspects of manufacturing operations, safety, and quality.
  • Lead department by setting objectives, developing plans, executing daily management activities and implementing corrective actions to ensure customer success.
  • Facilitate crosstraining opportunities and cooperation among other departments
  • Foster a learning organization that is invested in recognizing and understanding performance gaps, instilling organizational energy to tackle challenging problems, embracing continuous improvement for the Value Stream and the business.
  • Align the department toward both the long
- and short-term business objectives.


Drive Business Performance - SQDC

  • Develop, communicate, and align the Value Stream around the business' KPI's to achieve targets.
  • Champion EH&S efforts and projects by ensuring that employees and products safety are prioritized.
  • Lead the Value Stream management cadence (daily/weekly/monthly) that drives SQDC for the Site.
  • Manage budgets and spending to achieve both long
- and short-term business objectives.

  • Review and approve overtime (as required) and vacations to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain daily production statistics, including customer demand, past dues, and backlog.
  • Communicate key production metrics to relevant Site personnel.
  • Partner with Site leaders (such as Engineering, SC, Sales) to ensure both Customer's Success.
  • Be the central point of contact for Site leaders on production inquiries for the Value Stream.

Talent Management

  • Provide effective leadership, coaching and mentorship for the employees.
  • Identify and provide necessary training resources for new employees.
  • Provide employee coaching regarding safety, quality, and productivity performance (including attendance, punctuality, training, overtime, and vacation requests).
  • Lead talent management system and drive employee development to support the business.
  • Identify, recruit and retain top talents, creating a strong employee culture and engagement.

Continuous Improvement Leadership

  • Lead the development and achievement of longterm Value Stream improvements (Policy deployment).
  • Lead daily accountability meetings with direct reports and supporting functions focused on Value Stream performance and leading indicators (Tier meetings, Gemba Walk).
  • Lead and engage employees during kaizen events to drive continuous improvement and foster a progressive organization.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement tools to solve problems.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Min five (5) years of experience as a supervisor or manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite products and ERP/MRP.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or training) with demonstrated CI achievements.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Exposure to Engineered to Order (ETO) products and manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to manufacturing of LV & MV switchgears, Automatic transfer switches, or similar products.

  • Strong leadership and accountability skills with the ability to lead multiple teams and team leaders.
  • Able to multitask with strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to details and data analysis skills.
