As Installation Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the installation of metal buildings at customer locations.

This role is crucial in ensuring effective execution of the final customer-facing step in our sales process, creating delighted customers by setting and maintaining high-quality work standards, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, policies and procedures.


Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:


  • Lead and supervise a team of Installation workers across multiple work sites.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to installation teams, working collaboratively with foremen and lead hands, ensuring optimal resource allocation across all active field projects.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance team performance and individual growth.
  • Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork & collaboration, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Production Planning and Control:


  • Align with the Department Manager in developing and implementing installation schedules, ensuring alignment with customer needs and overall internal planning processes.
  • Support the Department Manager and Estimating Team as needed in developing installation estimates.
  • Monitor and track installation progress, identify bottlenecks, take corrective actions to minimize disruptions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other functions, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the availability of materials and equipment required for installation.

Quality Assurance:


  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects, nonconformities, or process inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to analyze data, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Analyze installation data, identify trends, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase output.
  • Implement relevant Lean methodologies to drive process improvement initiatives.

Health and Safety Compliance:


  • Ensure a safe work environment by promoting and enforcing adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and best practices. Directly address safety concerns raised by Installation workers, or escalate the issues as needed for resolution.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, taking necessary preventive and corrective actions.
  • Provide training and promote awareness among employees regarding safe work practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment.

Reporting and Documentation:


  • Prepare and maintain accurate installation records, reports, and documentation as required by company processes.
  • Ensure accuracy of work hours and expense information reported by installation workers.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, installation job status, and areas of improvement.

Budget and Cost Control:


  • Monitor project budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling costs to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify costsaving measures and efficiencies without compromising safety or quality.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment, optimizing inventory management.

Customer Relations:


  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and key design professionals to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to provide project updates and address any issues that may arise.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and build longterm relationships.
