Associate Director, Immigration Research


Location:
Remote working arrangement within Canada


We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada.

To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator.

Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.


About the Role

  • Produce high quality reports, blog posts, and articles on immigration
  • Contribute to research projects utilizing knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Support content development, stakeholder relations, and sponsorship outreach for Immigration related conferences and meetings
  • Support membership growth and retention strategies for the National Immigration Centre
  • Identify topics and speakers for webinars related to immigration and support their development and delivery
  • Contribute to the immigration research team's social media channels
  • Work closely with the Senior Research Associate to conceptualize new research opportunities and projects
  • Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Masters' degree in the social sciences such as political science, public policy, economics, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a professional applied research organization, handling complex research projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian immigration policies
  • Advanced writing skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and quickly
  • Strong understanding of economic principles, and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Demonstrated interest in conducting business development activities including completing proposals for research funding and securing sponsorship
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging social media in a professional setting
  • Ability to set priorities, work under pressure, and deliver high quality products
  • Demonstrated success in handling multiple responsibilities and deliverables
  • A strong sense of teamwork, professionalism and customer focus
  • Ability to travel as required when it is safe to do so.
  • Bilingualism is a major asset
