KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the day to day tasks of the payroll team along with the completion of biweekly payroll, onboarding, offboarding and transfers.
  • Process employee forms, salary information and job details in the employee files.
  • Reviews schedules, time sheets and makes adjustments and inquires on any outliers for payroll processing.
  • First point of contact for any payroll questions or concerns. Reviews, investigates and problem solves employee payroll issues such as missing pay, overpayments etc.
  • Understands payroll legislation, policy and can interpret payroll processes for union and nonunion employees.
  • Ensure that all payroll information, files, and records are maintained online in UKG and in our file room.
  • Liaise with Canada Life and Blue Cross for Benefits and RRSP administration.
  • Reviews payroll and benefits reports and makes adjustments based on findings.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all staff members and departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information.
  • Research employment legislation and regulatory guidelines such as EHT, CPP, EI, WCB, Income Tax, pension & benefit contributions, etc. and make recommendations.

Education & Experience:


  • Post secondary education or experience working in Payroll & Benefits Administration an asset.
  • Interest in perusing Payroll or HR as a career.
  • Payroll designation an asset.

Additional Information:


  • Ability to travel to sites within Alberta (<10%)
  • Ability to work hybrid office and work from home options available
  • Salary range is $40k$55k annually
  • Health & Dental Benefits, RRSP, EAFP
  • Experience with UKG (Ultimate Software/Kronos) an asset
