THE OPPORTUNITY:


The Lead Benefits Specialist will be a key member of the Benefits COE, supporting strategic design, budgeting, communication, and ongoing administration of the Canadian and Latin American programs.

This position will work closely with other members of the Benefits COE, HR Operations, and the HR Shared Service Center to ensure that all benefits are competitive and accessible.

The programs will include medical and dental plans, retirement plans, disability and leave programs, vacation and time-off programs, and well-being initiatives, but vary by country.


YOU ARE GREAT AT:


  • Ongoing management of benefits programs, including utilization review, program communications, resolution of escalated issues, and vendor management.
  • Responsible for all employee communications, escalations, and change management for Canada and Latin America. Become the resident expert for all benefits in Canada and Latin America.
  • Partner with COE leadership on the strategy and design of benefit improvements and explore ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage external vendors such as brokers, consultants, and recordkeepers.
  • Create reporting and develop a measurement strategy leadership reporting. Brings (or finds) insights on utilization and data.
  • Keep current with industry trends in the benefits arena, researching trends, best practices, and cost and financial impact and presenting recommendations and new ideas.
  • Develop communication materials that tell the complete story of our benefit programs' working corporate communications.
  • Work effectively with internal resources, including employee relations, HR shared services, legal, finance, sourcing, and payroll, and on several issues, including escalated employee issues and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for benefit plan compliance, including federal, state, and local requirements and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Building and recommending a benefit and wellbeing strategy in collaboration with benefits consultants, external market data, internal collaboration, feedback, and employee listening
  • Leading, developed, and measured wellbeing activities, which may include educational sessions, approved newsletters, tools & resources (building and presenting business cases as needed)
  • Remains active and informed of new, current, and pending compliance requirements for managed programs within assigned countries; makes recommendations as needed.

WHAT IT TAKES:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, HR
  • 3+ years of benefits experience (preferred Canada, Mexico, and Brazil)
  • Proven experience driving change partnering successfully with others and managing shifting priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Has an "Always Day One" mindset and is motivated by continuous improvement of processes and communications.
  • Experience with M&A due diligence, change management, and integration.
  • Experience with Excel and HRIM systems
