Profile


The Chief of Avionics, Electrical and Wiring is a technical leader working across the disciplines of Avionics Design, Electrical Design, Wiring Design, Avionics Installations Design, and contributing to the certification of those systems.

The Chief manages a team of specialized and experienced engineers and helps develop new hires.

The Chief is responsible for ensuring the team delivers on its commitments and must be willing to drive for results.

The Chief of Avionics, Electrical and Wiring will report to the Engineering Manager responsible for those disciplines or a similar leader.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the continued safety of the team, the safety of the products it develops, and the continuing airworthiness of the De Havilland worldwide aircraft.
  • Plan, oversee, coordinate, and prioritize activities of the team to provide Engineering solutions that meet quality, schedule, and cost goals.
  • Improve processes, strengthen technical capability, increase agility, and contribute to the design and build of De Havilland products consistently.
  • Work closely with other Product Development Teams, internal and external customers, and Partners/Suppliers.
  • Integrate partner designs managing interfaces and ensuring the designs meet the highest standards of quality expected for De Havilland products.
  • Provide technical leadership to all team members to surpass the Program requirements.
  • Engage and develop individuals and the team creating a stimulating and positive workplace.
  • Champion continuous improvement in Engineering its principles to implement and improve business processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and meet strategic goals.
  • Manage day to day workflow and ensure compliance to De Havilland processes and practices.
  • Support manpower planning activities and budget preparation.
  • Lead team through company initiatives.
  • Facilitate successful implementation of key projects and other business requirements.
  • Lead team effort to achieve Balanced Score Card or corporate targets.
  • Create and execute on schedules and plans to drive continuous delivery of projects ontime.
  • Focus on building and sustaining an engaged, efficient, and productive team of highly qualified and dedicated Engineers.
Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in an Engineering leadership capacity.
Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Aircraft Avionics including Communications, Navigation, Recording.
  • Good working knowledge of Aircraft Electrical Systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Aircraft Wiring and Avionics Installations.

Skills:


  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office software tools.
  • Experience with Engineering analytical tools.
  • Catia V4, Catia V5, AutoCAD.
  • Possesses strong project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Able to travel when required/requested.
