The Health Care Aide is an integral member of the health care team, supporting Adults and Stollery in a family centered care within a busy tertiary Emergency

Description:


As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C required) - Healthcare Provider Registration. One year experience as a HCA. English language comprehension, both oral and written. Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job i.e. pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, and reaching. Completion of Medical Terminology required. Ability to work in a team environment is essential. Self-motivated individual able to prioritize and organize workload, in a busy patient care environment.
