Your role consists in managing an important subset of sales and operational activities or a support sub-function with specialized activities within the sector, requiring use of your skills in making quality decisions and forming high-performance teams.


You're responsible for the service offer, developing and implementing the action plan, and ensuring the completion of activities set out in the administrative department's business plan.

Skilled in developing talent and driving results, you're able to effectively manage people and performance, produce reports and ensure member/client satisfaction.

General Information on the Position


Main responsibilities- Support the immediate supervisor by helping with work organization and with planning Risk Management Monitoring activities- Develop, implement and track your administrative unit's action plan in keeping with the organization's strategic directions and in alignment with the other administrative units, with a view to managing performance Define and oversee the implementation of activities related to the services the unit provides and ensure that projects under your responsibility are carried out in such a way as to maximize targeted business results and ensure member/client satisfaction- Support your administrative unit's action plan by managing individual and team performance- Continuously improve the management of processes under your responsibility- Promote Desjardins Group's cooperative values- Represent the organization and conduct business intelligence.


Specific responsibilities- Draw up and carry out the Agile monitoring plan for activities related to risk management, cash flow, the capital market, investment management, services to businesses and the components (Fédération, Desjardins Securities, Desjardins Trust, Desjardins Asset Management, Desjardins Venture Capital), using a risk-based approach aligned to Desjardins Group's strategic issues and complying with regulatory requirements- Draw up and carry out the work of the Monitoring Office in line with financial institutions' regulatory requirements- Advise the unit's auditors on how to define special and monitoring mandates, the risks to be covered, and the techniques and processes of internal audits- Review files and reports and approve them- Develop a relationship of trust with the regulators.


Priority issues and challenges- Put together and maintain an internal team of multidisciplinary auditors with expertise in Desjardins Group's specialized fields and who are able to take credible action in the files under their charge- Maintain the independence and credibility of Desjardins Group's Monitoring Office, making sure all operations are up to professional standards and providing value-added quality to clients.

Other working conditions- Workplace : Position located in Lévis or Montreal, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work #LI-Hybrid- Number of jobs available : 1


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in financial institutions, including 4 years in management
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered- Specialized MBA or CFA training (an asset)- For available positions in Quebec, note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledge

Strong knowledge of risk management, the Basel Accords and current legislation and regulatory requirements for financial institutions
