Description

This is a Shipping position which requires a Class 1 Driver's Licence
with air -
must have no ICBC infractions over the past 2 years & minimum of 2 years road experience). Required to operate company vehicles in a safe manner, following all regulatory requirements (pre-trip, traffic laws, etc.) This is a high pressure busy position where you will be working in a cold environment, as the co-ordinator/lead hand for the department for the shift.

Follow all HACCP and GMP standard operating procedures and accurately document all shipments and receiving.
Familiar with Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions (West Vancouver to Chilliwack) in order to properly set up truck runs.
Responsible for effective and efficient utilization of internal and external carriers (contact, direction, load, organization).
Responsible for supervision of all shipping staff on shift (drivers, order clerks & warehouse person).
Ability to operate both forklift and electric jack (must successfully complete certification within 60 days of posting).
Load trucks in a safe and orderly manner according to route, ensuring load is properly secured and on schedule.
Must make sure that all loads are counted and accurately shipped.
Knowledge of product (packaging, skids, etc.)
Work in a neat, organized and efficient manner.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment for the length of the shift.
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently and clearly.
Proper and effective communication with Dispatch Managers to solve problems as they arise.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager.
Must have computer skills and be familiar with Word and Excel.
Must be able to work in cold environment for long periods of time.
Must have a history of good attendance and reliability.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada to apply.
Needs to be familiar with the CFS scanning system.
