The opportunity


The Collateral Securities Specialist (Commercial/Real Estate) provides a solid understanding and support to the collateral securities system life cycle and servicing of
CWB's loan portfolio.

This role provides critical knowledge and support in the preparation, registration, and maintenance of collateral securities.

As a Collateral Securities Specialist, you will work to support leaders drive a high level of quality and standards, risk management, and strong data integrity.

Day-to-day activities

Client Experience

  • Deliver exceptional client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with
    CWB's brand promise.
Internal Service Commitments

  • Provide collateral securities support to an assigned branch network portfolio, leaders & client relationship managers through a continuous collaborative approach with the business and corporate departments. Corresponding with all partners, both verbally and in writing, regarding all loan processing, including inquiries.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets and quality benchmarks for credit support are being met
  • Establish a collaborative and clientcentric relationship with the credit support department ad branch network while balancing the efficiencies and governance of a standardized structure.
  • Ensures understanding on closing requirements with branch lending teams, customers and attorneys as needed while ensuring that all closings occur within scheduled target dates.
Process Compliance & Optimization

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and improvement of processes which lead to consistent and predictable daily credit support outcomes across the branch network.
  • Ensure contributions to collateral securities align with the Bank's policy & guidelines to ensure branch partners are able to continue to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Accountability as the team member for the execution of work procedures, policies and methods to ensure compliance with Canadian Western Bank's legal, regulatory business policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in the targeted benefit realization from credit processing standardization
  • Demonstrates high degree of effort to achieve accuracy and consistency at all times.
  • Participates in projects that primarily impact functional area or specific department, adhering to standard project governance practices and operating within approved budget.
  • Perform de diligence as it relates to credit support activities, procedures and documentation for compliance with regulatory bodies.

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from

  • Minimum of 3 years credit support experience with solid understanding of collateral securities
  • Knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, regulations, documentation, compliance issues, collateral securities and audit requirements
  • Technologically proficient in Banking Syst
