Please note that there are two (2) permanent full-time positions to fill. Applications will be considered for both positions.

This position is based in Trois-Rivières.

Your role

Reporting to the Director, French Services, Mauricie/Centre-du-Québec, you will assume the functions of a journalist assigned to digital platforms. You must have the integrity, drive and creativity to bring our programming to life.


You will develop your own stories covering a multitude of areas of interest, according to the Society's journalistic standards and practices.

We are looking for a creative journalist who wants to inform through digital platforms.


You will develop your own stories covering a wide range of topics, in accordance with the Corporation's Journalistic Standards and Practices.

You must maintain a large network of contacts, pitch story ideas related to Mauricie/Centre-du-Québec affairs, and provide in-depth and follow-up reporting.

You will conduct research and interviews, write copy, edit audio and video, and produce thorough, fact-checked, dynamic, compelling news content which will be likely to be broadcast on our digital platforms.

Please note the working hours may vary to accommodate production requirements, including evening and weekend shifts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) years' journalism experience or equivalent

Skills:


  • Extensive general knowledge
  • Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to chasing stories, with a focus on getting the facts right
  • Indepth knowledge of current events in Mauricie/CentreduQuébec
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team or independently, be resourceful, and take initiative
  • Knowledge of visual, audio and digital storytelling techniques, as well as strong interviewing skills
  • Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Superior Frenchlanguage skills
  • Knowledge of English is an asset
  • Must possess a valid driver's license as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company
