POSITION:
Housekeeper
Casual Positions Available


WORK TERM:
On Call / Varied


FACILITY:
Vancouver Harbour Light Facilities

119 E. Cordova Street, Vancouver B.C. V6A 1K8


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms and windows, dusts furniture, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums common areas and offices.
  • Ensures the general upkeep of external property such as, cleaning main floor outside windows, picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks.
  • Checks doors and windows to ensure building security.
  • Reports safety concerns and repair issues to Facilities Manager.
  • Restocks washrooms supplies.
  • Spot washes accessible walls, strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpet.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Willingness to adhere to the Mission Statement of Harbour Light and the values of The Salvation Army.
  • Up to three months of prior related experience; including previous cleaning experience and a familiarity with cleaning supplies procedures.
  • Certified with WHMIS
  • Must obtain Criminal Record Check in accordance with Criminal Records Review Program.
  • Current Certification in First Aid/CPR is an asset.

MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL ATTAINED:


  • Completed High School, plus specialized courses of up to six months

$ probationary, $ post-probation
