Job Description:


Reporting to Payroll Accounting Manager, the Payroll Accountant will be responsible for remittance, analyzing payroll deductions as well assisting year-end T4 reconciliation.

This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.


Accountabilities

  • Responsible for payrollrelated general ledger accounts reconciliation
  • File monthly WSIB report, prepare WSIB payment, reconciliation, and annual return
  • Reconcile WSIB cheque with payroll advance account
  • Create and run reporting as needed for accounting and HR department
  • Document and update payroll procedures with a continuous focus on identifying efficiency and process improvement
  • Post GL and coordinate payroll and accounting team to resolve GL errors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain Epay employee's account, responsible to answer employees' questions regarding Epay account
  • Assist yearend T4 reconciliation Support special projects, as assigned and other duties, as appropriate and require

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-Secondary education in accounting
  • PCP certificate completed or in progress
  • Two years of multiprovincial payroll accounting experience in a health care field desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile multiple data sources
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure sufficient to meet deadlines
