- Completion of Grade 12.
- Possession of an Electrician Journeyperson Technician certificate with Red Seal with experience in theinstallation and repair of wiring and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods,tools, materials and equipment of the electrical trade.
- Knowledge of electric power meters installations,testing devices and control equipment.
- Knowledge of streetlights, traffic lights and associated infrastructure.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safetyprecautions of the trade.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license; Class 3 or the ability to obtain a Class 3 Q would be an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret sketches, diagrams andblueprints.
- Ability to locate and correct defects in electricalpower lines and equipment.
- Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment ofthe electrical trade.
- Abilityto understand and execute oral and written instructions.
