    Description

    The Opportunity:

    The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting to fillthe permanent full-time position of Electrician Journeyperson Technician . This is skilled work at the journeypersonlevel in the installation, maintenance and repair of electric and traffic signals infrastructure, systems andequipment.

    As our preferred candidate, youwill have:

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Possession of an Electrician Journeyperson Technician certificate with Red Seal with experience in theinstallation and repair of wiring and equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods,tools, materials and equipment of the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of electric power meters installations,testing devices and control equipment.
  • Knowledge of streetlights, traffic lights and associated infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safetyprecautions of the trade.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license; Class 3 or the ability to obtain a Class 3 Q would be an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, diagrams andblueprints.
  • Ability to locate and correct defects in electricalpower lines and equipment.
  • Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment ofthe electrical trade.
  • Abilityto understand and execute oral and written instructions.

    Remuneration:

    $60.39 per hour to start

    Hours of Work:

    80hours biweekly; Monday to Friday with occasional overtime; some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
